Helping You Feel Resourced & Resilient

Ryan Gallagher, LAc. Trauma-Informed Mindfulness Guide in Savannah, GA.

Hi there! I’m Ryan.

I’m a trauma-informed mindfulness guide in Savannah, Georgia.

I help folks access states of ease, safety, and vitality.

You can
do this.

Feeling safely connected to your life—feeling like you belong—is your birth right. It’s in your anatomy and physiology. But sometimes we lose contact with that innate capacity. I’m here to help you find the path back.

So…what does Ryan offer?

I’m glad you asked! I use the polyvagal model of the nervous system to help clients transform chronic states of mental-emotional dysregulation. I offer sessions both in-person and online.

What’s this “polyvagal model”?

At the most basic level, polyvagal theory tells us that the nervous system has two modes: connection & protection.

“Connection” means we’re in safe contact with our own inner experience, with our surrounding environment, and with other nervous systems.

”Protection” means we’re engaging our survival responses of fight, flight, or freeze.

Both modes are essential. However, many of us get stuck in protection mode. This makes for a very uncomfortable existence!

When we’re stuck in protection, we chronically feel out of sorts—“too up” (like in anxiety) and/or “too down” (as in depression). We might even define “trauma” as being stuck in protection mode.

My sessions are designed to help folks build pathways out of protection and into connection, so that they can access states of ease, safety, and belonging.

Where does “mindfulness” come in?

Mindfulness is at the core of this work. In these sessions, I help you learn how to “keep in mind” connection mode—how to “center in awareness” your innate capacity for feeling safely engaged with your life. This a muscle that can be strengthened. I’m your connection-mode coach :)
