An Introduction to Somatics
Friday, March 13th at 6pm, at Shakti Yoga Athens!
In this live, 75-minute class, I use somatics to help you nurture your nervous system.
“Somatics” is a field of study and practice focusing on the “soma,” which is how we experience the body from within.
I’ll be providing somatic exercises and teachings that support your capacity to be more present, more resourced, and more resilient.
This class is perfect for anyone prone to feeling “dysregulated”—stressed, anxious, irritable, worried, unstable, depressed, withdrawn. The goal is for you to start feeling more comfortably at home in your body.
You don’t need to have any previous experience with somatics—everyone is welcome! There will be opportunities for physical movement throughout the class, but these are entirely optional. This is a very soft and gentle and nurturing time; you won’t need to force yourself into any postures or activities that are overly challenging.
